ABOUT

Zeitpolster

Zeitpolster, an Austrian social business, has created a dynamic care network where time is the currency. Their model facilitates everyday support services—like driving, household help, and childcare—by offering time credits to caregivers. These credits can be redeemed whenever needed, ensuring a sustainable and reciprocal system of care. By focusing on scalability, Zeitpolster not only boosts the quality of life for both users and volunteers but also cultivates a community where giving and receiving support are seamlessly integrated.

“Today I am helping. Tomorrow I will get help.”

Zeitpolster is now also being introduced in Liechtenstein and Germany, with our support focusing on organisational development and scaling. This innovative social franchise model, which began in Austria, aligns perfectly with our vision for a more caring society and economy. The first social franchise partner launched in Liechtenstein in 2020, marking a significant step in bringing Zeitpolster’s model to new communities.

“We supported Mrs J, aged 96, once a week until August…”

“After a fall, 24-hour care became necessary as she can no longer be left alone. As the woman is single, it would not be possible for her to continue living at home without the help of Zeitpolster. Zeitpolster appeals to volunteers aged 60–70 who were not previously active volunteers. In the current report, one result made it very clear to us why this is the case: 95% of active volunteers view the hours they have saved as part of their retirement provision.”
