WHO
About The Weathermakers?
The Weathermakers is a Netherlands-based private company that leads projects using holistic engineering, nature-based solutions, and regenerative management software to restore the planet’s biosphere. Their flagship initiative is the regreening of the Sinai Peninsula, which catalysed the company’s founding. They also engaged in various successful projects globally, including mangrove restoration and land reclamation.
Contribution
How The Weathermakers builds regenerative foodsystems
The Weathermakers utilises innovative techniques to enhance soil fertility and water cycles. With these practises, agricultural landscapes can support diverse plant and animal life.
Efforts in the Sinai Peninsula demonstrate how restoring water cycles can provide water and food security for local communities.
Developing Nutrient Bioremediation methods to clean and enrich soils, ensuring better crop yields and healthier ecosystems.
Working on global mangrove projects to protect coastlines and support diverse marine and terrestrial life, essential for food security.
Since 2021, Mustardseed Trust has provided The Weathermakers with $75,000 in funding, enabling significant advancements such as the signing of an MOU with the Egyptian government for the Bardawil & Sinai Initiative. This support also enabled the opening of a Geo-Dome in the Netherlands and crucial research on nutrient bioremediation and vegetation dynamics, driving forward ecosystem restoration efforts.
The Weathermakers transform landscapes and revive ecosystems
The Weathermakers’ work in regreening the Sinai Peninsula not only transforms local landscapes but also has far-reaching impacts on regional weather patterns and global climate stability. By restoring the water cycle, they enhance food security and improve livelihoods, creating a model for sustainable development worldwide.
