ABOUT

SSIA

Founded in 2014 by a coalition of organisations, SSIA works to advance research, industry standards, and stakeholder engagement in seaweed farming. They host conferences, support member projects, and drive policy discussions around seaweed’s economic and ecological value. The organisation advocates for a ‘seaweed code of good practice’ among its members and fosters a vibrant network of stakeholders from farming to bioplastics. SSIA also collaborates with academic institutions and supports innovation through funding and networking.
