ABOUT
The URDT
Contribution of Mustardseed Trust
Let’s awaken the sleeping genius in each of us…
URDT has been an incredible partner to Mustardseed Trust for nearly 20 years. We’ve seen them achieve great things, from setting up a girls’ school to attending key peace conferences. In 2018, Mustardseed Trust increased our support, and URDT responded by expanding their impact with the Epicenter Strategy. By 2021, they were scaling up their efforts to over 20 districts, all while closely working with the African Rural University.

Meet Phiona Atugonza, an ARU graduate…
… and now the sector lead for tourism at Young Africa Works Uganda, has been celebrated by Kyankwanzi district officials for her outstanding contributions.
Her recognition comes after her impactful work as Epicenter Manager for Kyankwanzi and Kibaale districts, guiding 739 young people through three cohorts. Thanks to her efforts, 200 have successfully launched their businesses or found employment.
URDT’s Epicenter Strategy brings the Visionary Approach to local governments, schools, and rural communities. Epicenter Managers, trained at the African Rural University, work across sub-counties, individuals, and villages, driving real change at every level.
URDT enables graduates to create conditions for rural people to improve their lives, transform their communities, and awaken inherent leadership.
